The Internet of Things (IoT) is seen as the next big technological revolution after the invention of the Internet. Devices, usually called "things" in IoT jargon, are networked with each other. The aim is to optimize and automate certain procedures and processes. Based on the weather forecast, for example, the sun awning can be brought in if it is supposed to rain later.
But IoT is not only a welcome addition in the home; it can also be put to good use in industry. Machines can be networked, controlled and monitored in production. This way, you always have an eye on whether everything is running as it should and can react quickly should this change.
Dolphin IT operates a comprehensive IoT platform that you can use to connect your end devices. It's easy to get started, you don't need a server, just an internet connection.
Once your "things" are connected, you can control them as you wish (turn on lights, open doors, etc.) and retrieve status information (temperature, humidity, battery level, and more). Our solution is based on the widely used MQTT protocol, so that hardware from various manufacturers can be connected directly.
There is a lot of free open source software that you can use to control your environment. However, sometimes it is necessary to dock the existing devices to your own application. This is no problem with us, because we support at the same time the also widely used AMQP protocol, with which you can intervene in the automation yourself.
In this way, you can put your own interfaces into operation and add useful functions to your existing software. For example, you can reuse your temperature readings in a monitoring application or switch off unnecessary current collectors when the last employee leaves the building.
